So, you’ve decided to take the next step in transforming the lives of adults with spinal injuries. What’s next? Here’s a quick look at the process we take when we bring new carers into the fold.
Once we receive your application, you’ll receive an email to let you know we’ve got it safe and sound. When we’ve had a chance to read through it and make sure you meet our criteria, one of our team will be in touch with you to let you know if you’ve made it through to the next stage.
Once we’ve double checked you’re the right candidate on paper, we’ll have a quick chat on the phone to find out a bit more about you. We’ll talk you through the process & triple check you have our ‘must haves’ before arranging to meet!
Next stop, London! You’ll meet with someone from our recruitment team. It’s here that we’ll make sure you’re the right personality for the job. A huge amount of what we do here at Origin is based around matching the right clients with the right carers, so it’s vital we get a real flavour for who you are.
Our Care Managers are experienced, and as well as making sure our clients are happy, they look after our carers, too. This is your chance to ask the guys on the front line what it’s really like working at Origin, and it’s their chance to book you onto a specialist training course!
Now we know you’re the right fit, we need to equip you with the right skills. Regardless of your previous experience, you’ll be asked to come along to an intensive 5-day training course in the UK, where we’ll put you through your paces.
The client/carer relationship is vital to delivering the highest standard of care we can. We spend a lot of time getting to know you, so that we can pair you with a client that’ll be well suited to you. It’s about making sure you and the client are both happy and comfortable.
All of our clients are adults living with spinal injury. For the most part, they’re young adults, who are busy and active, both in work and socially. In a carer, they’re looking for someone to enhance their already fulfilled and invigorating life.
This is not care work as you know it; it’s your opportunity to truly enhance someone’s life, whilst transforming your own.
We’re currently recruiting for live-in carers across the UK. To apply for this role, you don’t need experience as a live-in carer – our specialist training will equip you with all the skills you need. You do, however, need a full driving licence, that allows you to drive manual and automatic vehicles in the UK. Without this, we won’t be able to progress your application.
Want to work with us but live outside the UK? Don’t worry. We want you to know that we’re committed to building a diverse, talented team of people who share our passion for making a difference to people’s lives. We’re dedicated to offering opportunities to the very best people, regardless of background or nationality.
